It's good for a limited top speed of 62mph so motorway legal and a 80% charge takes 2 hours. The range is anything up to 68 miles (when averaging 25mph) but if like me you do over half your journey at 50-60mph the range will drop to about 25-30 miles. The battery is a 125V 3.7kW-h advanced Ni-MH with an estimated life of 10 years/50,000 miles. The Vectrix brand is American and has only been available since early 2007 and late 2007 in the UK. They are quite expensive, but you do get what you pay for and the maxi-scooter is by no means 'a cheap Chinese import' moped.
* Zero emissions means free road tax, a full charge is approx. 40p and no filters or oil to change - ever!
